Days from hell

The last few days have been literally hell on earth. I've still not decided what caused it, but I have never been so ill; my dad had a stomach bug for the last few days, but I didn't know, I went to a party, drunk some wine and was..incredibly sick. It all came back up. Came home because I was in such pain, managed to sleep through most of the night but was then consequently sick every hour, after every sip of water. I couldn't keep a thing down, I was slowly getting more and more dehydrated and was being sick more and more often til it was every ten minutes at about 2am. My mum called my doctor and he came to mine at 3am, bless him, and did a test for ketones (an acid left in the body when it burns its own fat as there is not enough insulin to get glucose from the blood so it resorts to fat, sounds like a miracle diet but it makes you feel like you want to die) and my ketones were horrendously high so I had to be admitted to hospital straight away. I couldn't even stand once I was in the hospital, I nearly passed out at the entrance and had to be put in a wheelchair haha. Once I got in, they struggled for about half an hour trying to get blood but because I was so dehydrated my veins were collapsing. They eventually got some, then put me on a fluid drip which made me feel a bit better as I wasn't dying from dehydration anymore haha. They diagnosed me with diabetic ketoacidosis, and also gave me anti-sicnkess meds through the I.V which was a miracle, because I had once again been sick, but for the last time, in the hospital. I fell asleep through some of the night, but kept waking up, and they put me on an insulin drip as well as the fluid one which brought me back down to sensible blood sugar. It went a bit low so they swapped the fluid drip for one with some glucose in it. I woke up at about 11 ish after a rough night and felt SO much better! It's amazing what nurses and doctors can do, I honestly owe them my life! I couldn't eat until a couple of hours ago because the acid in the sick had burnt my throat extremely badly but it's healing now and I just had some melba toast and butter biscuits, along with one bite of a measly burger at hospital and two tiny triangular cheese sandwiches, and A LOT of water.
I'm so grateful for everything they did, I have honestly never felt worse, also one of my doctors was gorgeous, really really hot hahahaha. (I looked terrible and I think I smelled lmfao)
