Red hair using Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour in Fiery red (6.60)

Red hair's been in fashion for quite a while now. It's quite common to see someone with vibrant rouge hair; and many people have modeled themselves after famous figures such as Florence (from Florence and the Machine), Hayley Williams from the band Paramore.
I've wanted to go red for as long as I can remember. I've been red before; around 2 years ago, after seeing Florence's hair, I envied it so much that I used about 3 different red dyes on my hair to try and achieve the wanted look. It didn't really work- it always faded to a gingery brown which was NOT what I wanted.
Well recently (last summer), my hair was bleached blonde. After my extremely dark brown roots started to grow through, and I lost the will to keep re-dying them, I decided to just dye it back brown and be done with it. But I accidentally picked a semi-permanent dark brown, which around 3/4 months after dying, faded to a very light brown, which actually looked quite nice contrasting with my dark roots, giving a sort of 'grown out dip-dye' look. But being me, I got bored...again, so I contemplated dying it black. But I realised what a waste this would be, as my hair was still quite light; why not use it to my advantage? I bought a red hair dye the other day for the first time in years, deciding to brave it. The red-dye I picked this time was one I had not picked before- Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour in 'fiery red' or shade 6.60.

 The shade looked a little pinky on the box which made me think instead of it fading to a ginger it would fade to more of a pinky red, which sounded nice in my head. I bought two boxes and came home and with the help of my mum, we slathered it over my light brown/dark brown rooted hair and waited 45 minutes. It went VERY red;

It looked like a success. I washed it off and dried it and it looked exactly the same colour as the image above- bright bright red.
(this is it a day after dying)

It's definitely the best red dye I've ever tried before; it;s worked better than any of the others including schwarzkopf and various l'oreal ones.
It's gone over the dark very well, though my roots are slightly darker, but unless you're analysing my hair you can't tell. It's been 5 days since I dyed it now and it has began to fade- I can't speak for every hair colour here, but on my light brown/dark blonde ends, it's going pinky red. I actually like this, and so do my friends!

This is it at the moment- fading a little, but not going ginger!

Overall, it was a good hair dye; it smelled a little, yeah- but it applied well, and didn't sting. It DID take a lot to wash it all out and the water still goes a little pinky when I'm shampooing! It comes with the standard conditioner as well.

  2. Thankyou so much :). It has faded quite a lot now but when they're selling this hair dye on offer for two for £8 it's really easy just to re-dye every month! So I really suggest using this hair dye!
